If your getting new ones most companies will take your old ones away at no charge when they deliver the new ones. If you just have old ones that your keeping my suggestion is to vacuum the mattress on both sides. Follow up by using some kind of allergen control spray to help reduce the amount of dust mite droppings that are present in all our mattresses. As far as the box springs go I am not sure there is any preventive mantiance you can do.

Let the store where you're buying your new mattress know that you need your old matrress carried away. For free. They know how to deal with them and it can be a challenge for you. In California it's illegal to donate / sell a used mattress and some trash haulers don't take things that large.

In our mattress shop we sell new field springs as properly, yet we motivate human beings to apply their previous field springs as long as its nevertheless sturdy. a lot of mattress businesses will require you to purchase new packing bins as a fashion to conform with their guarantee. this is in basic terms a ploy to get extra funds out of you. i might warning you to verify your field springs properly. we've had quite a few shoppers no longer understand their packing bins have been broken. turn them over and make beneficial the timber beams have not have been given any cracks. some timber breaks are ultimate seen while weight is on them. in case you do purchase new field springs, make beneficial they use high quality timber, finished beams with helps each and every 6 inches. wish that helps

Some municipalties charge to haul those. Craigslist is good, so is freecycle.com in your area (it's a yahoo group, free to sign up), or whenever we want to get rid of something, if we just set it on the curb someone will snatch it up overnight. Very convenient.
My first recommendation though would be freecycle.com. You have no idea how many college kids need furniture and will take a used bed.

First you have to buy sitckers from your nearest city hall and then sit the items outside on garbage day with the stickers on them and the garbage men will do the rest.

Lots of things but if your really want to get rid of it, call Waste Management and they will pick it up for free. You agree on a date and just place them in the curb, in front of your address.

Leave it at the curb for the garbage crew to take it away. That's what we do here, but maybe your ordinances are different.

If they're not that old looking and can still be used you can put them on craigslist.org... either sell them or give them away to someone who really needs them.
