A product called "Goo Gone" works wonders on removing residues from glass. It is readily available in most hardware and grocery stores and costs about $5.00 a bottle. Also Acetone will clean most anything off glass with enough elbow grease. And man will that stuff leave a clean pane of glass when your done.

After I wash my car (in the shade), I dry it with a chamois cloth. After the exterior has been dried, I use the damp chamois on all the interior windows.

The key is to keep the car in the shade - in direct sunlight, the water from the chamois would leave spots as it dried.
