read a magazine, watch tv, go eat at a nearby restaurant, play with the kids, play cards (I always have a deck), talk to other patrons, talk on the phone, write a letter, pay bills, run a quick errand that's close by, people watch.

i usually take a walk around the stores in the shopping center. the laundromat i go to has a big lots in the shopping center so i go there with my 2 year old and we look at toys and books, then buy some juice and a healthy snack and by the time we get back our laundry is done :)

I just put on my walkman, listen to tunes, and read a book.

However, there are laundromats now that have arcades and a bar in them! I've never been to one of those, but sounds better than the hole I go to when I need to wash comforters.

Bring a book, watch tv if they have one, run errands in the neighborhood if you feel safe leaving your stuff, contemplate your fingernails, look at other people as they fold their clothes, meditate, talk on your cell phone, take a nap, pace, check if your clothes are ready every three minutes. yeah, laundromats are not the most entertaining place to be.

Most people read and or listen to music. Nicer stores might have a t.v. I have tried reading in mine but I found i keep getting distracted. I worked in one for a few monthes so I would do work and throw my loads in when I had an extra minuet and then went back to work which wasnt much fun eather but beat sitting there for me at least.

i usually take a book or a writing pad and write a letter that i never seem to find time to do while at home. get a word search or x word book and just relax. after all its not that long to wait. or if all else fails start a conversation with someone there, who knows you might make a new friend.

Buy a handheld video game (like a Nintendo DS or Sony PSP) to play while you wait.
