it says on the tag to wash it in warm water in a front load commercial washer. does that mean i have to go to a laundromat to wash it? because my washer is top loading. and it says to put clean tennis balls in the dryer with it. why? i've just never washed a down blanket before.

I have hardwood floors in my apartment, but I also have an area rug that I need to vacuum, so I need one that can do both. I have a stick vacuum right now that's great on the hardwood, but horrible on the carpet. I tend to shed and the vacuum won't pick up my long hairs. They just get pushed around the carpet by the brushes. I don't have too much storage space for it, so smaller is better, and I don't feel like spending a fortune on some fancy vacuum. Does anybody have a vacuum that works great on hardwood and carpet? (the carpet has a short pile)

I have a pink and white jersy and got orange stuff on just the white part. I've tried Oxy-Clean, spot bleaching it, and covering it in detergent along with other stain removers. If I put it in bleach water, with mostly water, will it destroy the pink? I plan on wearing it very soon, so it can't be any long term repairs.

Do I need to take it to a laundromat where they have giant machines, or take it to a dry cleaner? I don't have tons of money just to get this quilt cleaned, but it does need to get clean somehow.

I am curious to find out if 'they' have created anyways yet to 'wash' clothes without a water plug/hook-up in an apartment with no W/D in unit (and busy laundry rooms)? Drying is easy; but washing?? anyone have any tips besides moving? lol.
