I would rub it down with WD-40 then use a clean rag and rinse it well..One ingredient in WD-40 is fish Oil.....It will not harm leather, just make sure you rinse it good and apply some sort of oil after cleaner....It might also remove the hairspray with Vegtable oil, then rinse it off....Vegatable is good for leather

WD-40... It will work but smells like kerosene. I would try Goo-gone on it. Put some Googone on a rag and wipe the hairspray off. It will leave a fresh orange smell and should be OK to use with the coloring on the leather. Whatever you use first try it on a little part of the leather that you won't see to make sure there is no adverse effects.

I would be very careful with any solvent based cleaner such as wd-40 or anything else. I'm not sure if Goo-Gone is solvent based but I believe it is. Anyway, they will quickly dry out your leather and it will come apart in the area rubbed.

Personally, I would use any soft cleaner. Go to semproducts.com and find their leather cleaner. It works well. You may also try some dishwashing liquid mixed with warm water and scrubbing really good with a towel.
