Ensure all clothes which have not been worn for a couple of months are removed from the wardrobe and given a good airing, then brush them down and hang them away again.
If you know you are not going to wear an item very often, keep them in a zip-up clothes bag.
You can but herbal moth repelents which don't smell too bad.

Get a piece of cedar wood from a timber merchant, drill a hole in it and thread a piece of ribbon or string through it so you can hang it in the wardrobe.
When the smell has faded, just sand the surface to reveal fresh wood.
It doesn't have to be all that big - about the size of a saucer should do the trick.

keep your clothes fresh and clean, also regularly wash your wardrobe out with warm water with a few drops of washing up liquid and leave to completly dry before reloading it. Add a lavender beg or simmilar dried herbs in a old sock(clean) and peg it onto a coat hanger, this will give your wardrobe a nice smell.
