I was going to get a drink of water a couple minutes ago and saw a man cleaning it with something. So I came back and filled my bottle up with water after he left. It smelled like he cleaned it with paint thinner or varnish. It smelled pretty bad...not like ammonia or chlorine or bleach. So I was wondering, what do they clean it with normally? The container he was cleaning it with was sort of boxy and aluminum. Maybe he was trying to poison the fountain? He was a maintenance for my dorm floor (in college). I feel kind of high right now...do you think I'm imagining or is the chemical to blame?

It's been beeping since I got home yesterday afternoon. I obviously don't have any carbon monoxide in my house, because i would have noticed in the past 26 hours (still opened windows and turned off heat to be on safe side). I've even unplugged the detector from the ceiling, but some thing in the wiring in the ceiling keeps beeping. It's driving me and my dog insane. Any one know to get it to stop?

Oh Dear!

I hope someone can help. I have a wonderful skirt, 94% rayon and 6% spandex. I was doing the wash and some bleach was splattered on it making some horrible bleach spots. Besides the "sharpie" method of coloring them in, does anyone know a remedy. Please, this is my favorite skirt!!

Thanks :)

I need some suggestions on picking a complimentary color here. For the main part of the house we really want to use a Sherwin Williams color called Ripe Olive, which is a very cool deep green color, and the trim is a creamy white color, we are looking for a complimentary color, other than another green, to paint the dormers on the house. None of the browns or silvers we tried looks good with the green, we even tried black.

On a side note our house is of hardy plank (stain is out) and a good size piece of land, our closet neighbor is about a mile away, and it is a heavily wooded area so we want to house to blend in as much as possible. I have included a link to the picture of the front of the house, the only changes we made to these plans is we removed the third garage on the left side, and the three small dormers above the front door, are actually one single large dormer that matches the pitch of the other two.

I am trying to get the mothball smell out of a 40 year old christening outfit. So far I have washed it in a pot of hot water with Rit white wash laundry treatment & detergent. I rinsed it & now have it soaking in the sink with detergent. I guess I'll soak it in fabric softener next. If anyone has any knowledge on what to do to get the smell out, I would really appreciate it. I am trying to avoid taking it to the dry cleaner.

Our female chicken turned out to be a male chicken...and a loud one at that!
We have to get rid of him, but I don't have the heart to put ester in the pot....beside he is still kinda scrawny...so I thought I'd post an ad in the farming section on craigslist...i've never sold a chicken before, whats a fair price?
He's never been vaxed and has been fed organic feed...he's also been socialized around kids and dogs.

I have a low spot in my lawn and I want to build it up with topsoil in the spring and plant grass seed. Is it necessary to remove the grass underneath the new topsoil or can I put the topsoil on top of the grass that's already there?
