I don't know about other brands, but Minwax stain doesn't give a recomended temperature. I think Stain can be applied in most outside temperatures because it doesn't sit on the surface to cure. It is drawn into the wood itself. If you are using a solid stain, it might read not to apply in humid conditions,not above 90 degrees or below 40 degrees. Byee

Most paints and stains work better between 50 and 85 degrees. Humidity is also important for the length of drying time. The more humidity, the longer the drying time.

truly the warmer the better, just add a few hours for the colder temp. Remember if you are going to polly the door, to lightly hand sand anygrain that raises between coats.
