I have State farm insurance and the adjuster and the reinstate states that i had hail damage only on my gutters, even tho i need a roof like now. Even tho i have been paying insurance premiums for 14 years aren't they out to protect me any...they state the roof is to old it appears that they didn't say anything to me when i moved in...But i noticed clients who have roofs under 10 years old they are fixing them like hotcakes. just thought insurance was there for you in case something happens. Now what can i do?

I have been a property adjuster for 20 years and have seen alot of roofs.
Old roofs are just that- old roofs, Insurance premiums are not an investment, they are not guaranteed to pay off in the future- they protect you from fire, actual damages(not wear & tear), liability ( mailman breaks leg on your porch) etc.
Get some bids, buy good shingles and replace your roof. If your tires wear out on your car does your insurance pay for that?

There's no doubt your roof suffered some degranulation (that's when the little bits come off the shingle). There's probably some of the grains in the gutter. But if the roof is old, it's old. They used to give you pro-rated benefits in situations like these. Is your roof under warranty? Depending on the manufacturer, they may be good for 20 or 25 years. Check that out and see, but I wouldn't necessarily drop State Farm--none of the home insurers are very generous these days.

Roof has been damaged due to hail, is collateral damage. Collateral damage is indication of hail hits to other areas of the house including dents to fascia, gutters, vents, valleys, windows, siding, etc.
