I have a hibiscus bush that remains outdoors year round in Chicago. We've had it for about 4 years and we keep it at about 4-1/2 ft tall. We've only trim it a couple times a year. My questions are... we want to move it so is this a good time or should we wait until the spring and should we be cutting it back every year, if so when is a good time?

Hello,

We have got a fern in my house and my flatmate had it in her room, she started loosing her leaves and becoming yellow, she put it outside in the garden and it is exactly the same. I've decided to save the fern so, have you got any suggestions? Shall I cut all the yellow leaves and see if she start again having nice luxurious green leaves?

Thanks for your help!!

I live in an apartment and have a metal door with two small windows at the top. The windows are square and just by guessing, are probably 6 x 6 or so, give or take. I'd like to put something on my door for privacy in the evening, as you can see my bed from these two windows. Any suggestions? My neighbor has two plastic squares covering her windows but I would like something nicer. Do they make blinds this small? Or a shade? Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Just wondering if using dishsoap on my eyeglasses will ruin the lenses. This seems to clean them the best, the sprays dont work that great.

I live in an old house with wooden floors... The floor boards on the landing are horribly creaky and getting worse. I could swap them out / screw them down, however there is very expensive carpet glued to the floor that is impossible to take up without distroying it. Any ideas how I can stop the floor creaking without removing the carpet.... (there is no access from underneath either...)

We just moved. We have a queen size bed. Yet when we went to move the box springs upstairs, we were surprised to find the ceiling at the bottom of the landing is too low to get the box springs through. The mattress itself bended enough that we could get it through. Is there anyway we can cut the box spring frame to get it through or should we just buy a couple of single box springs? Will cutting it and bracing it back together completely destroy the stability? I had to sleep with my hubby on a full size last night, so I am anxiously, sleepily, waiting on a reply! Thanks in advance!

There are mushrooms growing in the yard. The yard used to be cow pasture, and is now my yard, but the mushrooms are HUGE! They are growing directly above the septic field, so I am wondering if they are safe to eat. They are all white, about 10" in diameter, maybe 5" tall, and there a about 50 of them.

I have been told not to buy dwarf (or any) trees from one company because I was told they mislable their products. Also I do not want to get a sterile tree that will not produce fruit.
Does anyone have suggestions of where I can purchase quality fruit trees?

We've been growing beetroots in our vegetable patch but they're not growing very quickly and some haven't formed - they look just like roots!

Any ideas on how to give them a boost?
