my daughter has left a hibiscus plant outside on a glass top patio table all summer. She waters it faithfully. Last Saturday evening she mentioned to her husband she could smell something burning in the back yard but couldn't determine a source. In the morning when she went out to hang some clothes out,she saw that the hibiscus was burnt to a crisp still smouldering. It had burnt from the roots up with just a couple of leaves left. The soil almost gone. She poured water over it and it steamed away as if still on fire. Would this have happened in here house if the plant was in it's normal spot in livingroom?

After moving in to my new property 6 day ago I have discovered damage to the floor in the box room and the bathroom area.
The wooden floor under the carpet in the box room is rotten and covered with mould. Similarly with the bathroom floor next to the bath tub.
It was not highlighting before the sale.
If I had known that floor repairs were required I would not have purchased the property for the amount that was paid.
In my opinion repair cost should be paid by Seller. Am I right ? Is ther any law on my side?

I have recently move into my mew house where the lawn was laid in rolls about 8 months ago. With the addition of an 18 month old puppy lets say it isnt looking ts best. Firsty how do fix or treat the burnt patchs where the dog has continually pissed? Is there a pet friendly feed that I cant treat the lawn with over the winter to help is growth and kill of any potential weeds. Finally what the best way to fix holes that have been dug and when should I reseed them????
PS Killing or getting rid of the dog is unfortunatly not an option LOL.

I dug this up out of the soil from under a fern.

The photo shows 2 parts of the "shell" which are soft and jelly like. The mesh like ball was folded up inside the shell and popped out of a hole which had broken in the shell. The ball was very delicate and covered in brown slime and has since dried up to virtually nothing. The ball looked like one of those plastic collapsible balls made of linkages.

Any one know what this was? Was it a fern seed?

Our front lawn is being taken over by these tiny little white and purple flowers. They are not clover or morning glories, rather their petals look like tiny daisy petals. When we mowed they came back with a vengeance! Help!

The house I have seen has cavity walls throughout the main 1930's house, but the kitchen extension has been built at a later date.

The kitchen does not have a cavity wall, it just has a solid red brick wall.

Would this stop me being able to get a mortgage on this property?

Also are there any relevant websites you could refer me too?

Thank you for any answers.
