the simple rule of anything is you get what you pay for, with that being said heres what i know about all the brands i work on. Maytag, whirlpool, frigidaire,ge, all those brands since 2006 are giving 1 year warranties parts and labor after 12 months nothing is covered. Fisher and paykel gives a 2 year warranty, bosch gives on most products 5 years of warranty, and speed queen who only has a laundry line has a 3 year warranty. If you want great service, go to smaller appliance dealers, places like sears, the service is slow, and they will never bend rules for the consumer. GE has to be one of the better middle class products, if you buy a maytag or whirpool they are the same exact thing considering whirlpool bought maytag 3 years ago. If your interested in a good working, cost efficient product anything by FISHER & PAYKEL is the way to go. LG products are by far the ones with the most problems. so the worst would be LG, there junk and youll spend to much for a look. The best would be FISHER&PAYKEL, they look great and work fabulous.

I've had more trouble with my washing machines than anything else. They get a LOT of use in my house.

Second would be the ice maker. I just bought new ice trays after replacing the ice maker for the 3rd time and having it go out a year later.........
