Hi everyone, RScott and I were wondering what you grew up calling the Armadillidium vulgare. We thought it would be interesting to find out if different cultures and countries had different names for them. If you don't know what that is then you may recognize it by a few of it's nicknames like Pill bug, Roley Poley, or Tiggy Hog. I for one called it a Roley Poley. What did you call it?

I carpet was soaked and began to smell moldy and of mildew. We called the rental office day after day and they kept saying they would send someone and we waited almost 2 weeks. I'm pregnant and couldn't even sleep in m,y bedroom b/c of the terrible smell (had 2 sleep on the couch). I ended up ripping out the carpet in the room because it was nothing that could be done for it. We had it professionally cleaned & everything. Anyways...our lease will be up in december and I was wondering if we could have it replaced (if so, how?) or should we just leave it as is (i know there is a strong possiblity they will try 2 charge us...but they never came!!!)Thanks in advance.

I don't have poison Ivy in the Yard. The previous owners planted the ground cover Ivy and it is growing up the side of my house. I suffer from a lung disorder so I can't keep up with the growth.

Just today, I found my light switch is vibrating, I immediately thought this could be a symptom of electricity leaking. So I used a continuity tester and found there is electricity on the surface of the metal switch, also tests on ceiling light and other switches in the house turns out positive.

I am getting a bit worried, I need some expert advise. if this is a urgent problem or what kind of a job are need to fix this.

Thank you.

I need to make two Thanksgiving Centerpieces for a nursing home. They must be at least 2x2. The director would like to enjoy them Mon-Fri of Thanksgiving week.

Now my question is: SILK OR FRESH.

I'd love to go fresh, but I can never be sure how long they'll last. So if I give them on Mon and they've wilted by Thu...

I have a water outlet for a washer in my new house but the idiots who installed it didn't put a trap in there to prevent sewer gas. (wasn't able to discover it until a year after i bought the house and got a washer). Is there any way, other than ripping out the walls to redo the pipes, to put some sort of trap ?

Thanks!

If I insulate all my windows with the styrofoam type insulation plus plastic over this along with heavy blankets, throw rugs on all floors, heat tape outside on pipes and in working order, water left trickling indoors, and plenty of warm blankets to use will my home remain warm to get through the winter. I live in lower part of Michigan (Macomb County) in a small older model type mobile home. I have heat tape outside on my pipes and I can eliminate any drafts by insulating all drafts from any windows as mentioned above. I have tried asking this question or similar a number of times and have yet to get any answers other than kerosene heaters (which i am against as they can cause fires, or space heaters which I hear can run the electric bill sky high) I am trying very hard to get someone to please come and look at my furnace which isnt working but so far no luck so I want to prepare myself in the meantime. Government assistance wont help because according to them I do not qualify.

Well, I'm going for a relaxing theme- and I've been watching a lot of Design on a Dime (luv that show!!) on HGTV, and I'm thinking about a nice, Moroccan theme. I've seen a lot of turquoise and purple on the wall color, but I'm going for more of deep, rich, tones, like maybe deep reds, golds, chocolatey browns, and rustic oranges, and maybe inlcude a little bit of the purple and turquoise in accent pieces, like a rug and pillows. Since I'm doing my bedroom, and it's quite small, I'm thinking about a funton for a bed, and some chairs for additional seating, and an armoire (sp?) for my TV and additional storage. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS:
I have mirrored closets! So, what's a way for making those closets looks more moroccan, but not too pricy?
Thanks so much! Good answers please!

~Danielle~

I got this used fridge from a friend in July...it's not old and hadn't been used long. For the past few weeks, I have not wanted to make any ice or offer refrigerated water to any of my guests because they both taste somewhat like windex. The water is bought at a vending machine. This refrigerator is plain in that it does not have any water lines going through it. I place vending machine water in a pitcher and put it in the refrigerator as well as place the vending machine water in ice trays and in the freezer. I've tasted the water from the vending machine and it tastes great until I have to refrigerate it. I thought I might need to put a box of baking soda in both the refrigerator and freezer. I turned the temperature down some more and then back up to normal and I can't get it to change the taste. Is there maybe a service I have to have done to it? Is this potentially harmful to me for drinking it? Most importantly, how can I get the unit to not ruin the taste of my water & ice?
