A "square" is 100 square feet. It could be 2 feet by 50 feet or 10 feet by 10 feet it doesnt matter. Not all shingles are 3 bundles to the square many are 4 bundles and some are 5 bundles

A square =100 square feet.
Multiply the length and width of your roof to get the total square feet. Then divide that number by 100 to find out how many squares of roofing material you need.
