I accidentally used a rough sponge to clean the outside of our landlord's skylights and now they are scratched and hazy. Is there anyway to get them clear again without damage?? Help!!

I should add that these skylights are plastic, not glass.

You can polish or buff out the scratches - it's tedious but can be done. There are some products made that should make things easier. I'll put some links below.

Good luck-

I don't know how to fix scratches, but I do have a question/caution for cleaning skylights. Were the panes glass or plastic? Because plastic is clouded by amonia. So never clean the plastic ones with window products containing amonia (even the old amonia and water homemade one). Figure this bit of advice might save someone else from skylight grief, even if it wasn't the case with you.

NO is the word, I'm sorry but, plastic. Your going to have to replace these for the landlord. I don't know how many there are but here's an idea.
I just bought a 1/4 inch piece 2X4 and it was $12.00

He only has to see daylight through them, not any scenery so, he might excuse you.
