Usually when you leave the roller in a bucket of water and soak it for an hour or two will help you to release the paint.
After that you can wash it as usual and hang dry. Do not put your roller under a direct sun, let it dry by leaving it hanging over a shaded area.

I'm with Bob P on this one. My mother tried to save money by washing out paint rollers after using them, but then I kinda figured what's the point? They're relatively inexpensive.
Last winter I painted my bathroom. It required two coats, so after I was done with the first coat I put the paint tray, roller and rush into one of those Ziploc Big Bags. That kept all the air out and I was good to go the next day.
After I was done with the project I cleaned up my brush and roller handle, but I tossed out the roller. I guess I figure the less paint possible that I put down the drain, the better!
But to answer your question....no, I have yet to find a fast way to clean out a roller or a brush. It takes a lot of water to get all the paint out.

Roller covers are inexpensive, and quite frankly once cleaned do not perform as when they are new. I long ago stopped cleaning my roller covers. What I will do, if I will paint with that color again, is wrap it in plastic to keep it from drying out. Take the roller cover off the roller, wrap in plastic (you can use the plastic cover it came in if it will cover the entire thing). Depending on the climate, I have had roller covers keep, suitable for reuse, up to 3 months. This was in a cool, damp place such as a basement. If warmer, dryer, etc., only a couple of weeks.

1st get as much paint of the roller as possible,,, while the paint cover is still on the roller, reattach the roller to the paint Handel, take it outside ,and with a water hose hold Handel with the roller vertical spray the roller ( cover ) with water this will cause the roller to spin...fast....once you have it pretty clean remove cover from roller wash the inside... replace cover spray again until clean...this will get all of the paint out....PS hope you have a long Handel..lol

I agree with Bob. I tried to wash my first one out and decided it wasn't worth it for a few dollars. If you are going to be painting the same color again in the near future, just stick the roller in an airtight baggy. I have done so for several weeks and it was as good as I left it. Bonus points for putting it in the freezer and not catching heck from the missus.

I agree with Kimberly. I usu sally do both, hose it off to get most of the paint off then bring it in and finish it with warm water in the sink. (only I don't have a pressure washer, Wha)
