Just wondering if using dishsoap on my eyeglasses will ruin the lenses. This seems to clean them the best, the sprays dont work that great.

My grandmother did it all the time. Good luck. 2D

It may do the best job, but it depends on what, if any, kind of protective or glare coatings are on the lenses. I have glasses that I clean daily with water on my face washcloth after I clean my face and rinse off the Alpha Hydorx foaming face wash. It has never hurt the lenses or the anti glare coating, but mostly I take the spray glass cleaner that the eye MD gives me with glasses each time I get new ones. It is great.
I don't have one here to know it's name, but they just suggest mild soap and water.

No it won't hurt your eyeglasses. Just make sure that you do not use any dish soap with abrasive ingredients or bleach because you could ruin them that way.

Dry them with a soft cloth very gently. I do this from time to time, if I'm in the kitchen and my cloth and spray is somewhere else. I can't stand smudgy lenses.

I do that too - not every time I clean my glasses though - just in case it's not a good idea. Mostly, I do it as a "deep" cleaning kind of thing - that way I can clean the bows and the rest of the frame.
Then use a towel or soft cloth to wipe them with - not a papertowel or napkin.
Good luck.

I've had plastic lenses since they were first available (more years ago than I like to admit), and you're right about dish soap cleaning them best. I've never scratched a lens cleaning them with dish soap, very hot water, and a soft towel.

Think of the lens as a sponge that will have negative response to any thing other then saline or regular cleaner.
it could stiffen or break down the lens.
