No offense meant at all; but the cost of new cords might be less than the cost in damage in a possible house fire.

Certainly there are methods...Stripping back the wiring, re-connecting with wire nuts, elect. tape, etc. but WHY??

You should be able to buy just the new cord for your washer and dryer. Many appliances have electric cords that just plug into the back fo the machine. No need to wire it or anything. Take the Make and Model numbers to a repair shop and see if they can order you new cords.

Spend a few dollars and get the identical ended cord. there are a few different types, so take your old one with you to matck it up. They are really easy to replace. Just make sure that the center wire on the cord goes to the ground of the machine. The other two can be interchanged.

There is no way to fix it in a safe way. The best thing you can do is buy a new cord and place them where they are not going to get severed again. There are cords that are not on the pricey side and that would be your best option.

You shouldn't chance splicing them back together. It is not safe. Heavy duty cords for appliances can be purchased at Lowes or Home Depot, and they don't cost that much.

I had to replace my dryer cord because the plug was not compatable with the outlet when I moved. It's really easy to do, and it is definately the safest way to go.

It can be sliced, but on such a heavy load cord, I wouldn't chance it. Dryer cords are availabe at Home Depot and Lowes. They are quite easy to replace, too. Just be sure to take your time and double check your work before you plug it back in.

No matter what get a new cord.

Man marathon has been reported. If you do as he has instructed you will get a severe burn and possible blindness.

when two wires of an electrical circuit touch and arc it is hotter then the sun. It will give you arc flash which will burn your skin and blind you at least temporarily.

First thing to do is find a better job because obviously your not making enough at your currant one to buy a 10.00 cord.

Trying to fix it would be penny wise and pound foolish. Don't be cheap and just buy a new cord.
