Can I use a really good primer first then apply the final finish coat? Which will be an off white.
Should I just lightly scour the varnished finish so that the primer will bond into it better?

I am renting an older house. The kitchen sink looks like its ceramic (like the same material a toilet is made from)... its white, but its stained and looks "scratched up"... how can I make it look cleaner/newer? If its one thing I hate, its for a kitchen to look dirty. Please help!

My contractor told me, inorder for the County to give as the permit for demolition for my second floor addition to my house, we need to removed the vinyl tile floor in my basement (15 x 20 area), because it's contaminated with asbestos. My contractor will do it by himself and will put everything in a double bag and will hire a disposal co. to disposed it. How safe are we in staying in the house after they removed it? We will be staying in the house for another 1-2 Months before they do the actual construction.

It's a Kenmore with freezer in the bottom, fairly new. I've tried adjusting the front right tilt screw with no success. Sometimes I can push on the side or open the door and it lessens, other times not. The noise is off when the compressor stops but sounds like it's from the sides. It gets loud and annoying. Thanks for any help.

my fiancee is out of town and I decided I needed to clean things up around the house before she got back. I took all the dirty dishes and put them into the washing machine, and set it to gentle, but it still broke everything in there! What did I do wrong? How do I explain the broken dishes? 2 of the plates in there were china from her grandma.

I live in a detached property but my wall at one side is in my neighbours drive and they have large gates so you can not see down. I have right of way to maintain my property.

My house was on the market and sold, the surveyor indicated very high levels of damp on this wall that is in the neighbours driveway and recommended a specialist report. I arranged this and the surveyor found they had rubbish piled 5 foot high and 3 foot deep against my wall, he indicated this has caused the damp. The rubbish has been there a long time over the summer during the heavy rain and, is mostly in plastic bags etc so any rainfall is soaking directly into my wall.

The buyers have pulled out.

There was no other damp found.

I complained to my neighbours yesterday and they apologised and said they would move it, how long do I reasonably give them to move it as this is making my property defective?

I am so upset about this is there any legal action I can take or would this just be petty?

We live in a 3-bedroom, 1 bath home. The garage was converted to create the 3rd bedroom. There is currently a concrete driveway graded to an incline, but it has an odd bump in it that makes parking on it nearly impossible for most cars.

If we had the driveway repaved to a flat surface, would this increase our home's value?

Does anyone know what tiles you can and cannot use for a Firepit? My husband is hand building a fire pit in our backyard. What types of tile can go outside and withstand heat and rain?

I don't want to bring them in. Do you cut them back and put them in the garage? Will they come back next year like this? Or do you just toss them and buy new ones next year?

I live in Georgia and it is getting cooler, we moved in a new house and the hydrangeas still have the old wood (no blooms) from last year (spring). Would it hurt them if I cut it off now? They look awful!!! They are starting to bloom and get fuller but it would look much better if I can cut it off without killing them!

i'm wanting to get a garbage disposal installed in my mother's kichen. they have a problem with their sub-pump that when it goes off the kitchen sink periodically fills with water. if a disposal was installed would the food clog the piping and cause more of an overflow problem? or would it effect it at all?
