i'm wanting to get a garbage disposal installed in my mother's kichen. they have a problem with their sub-pump that when it goes off the kitchen sink periodically fills with water. if a disposal was installed would the food clog the piping and cause more of an overflow problem? or would it effect it at all?

ok, found out some more info about it. yes i was mistaken calling it a subpump, sorry. i just misunderstood when i heard it and thought that's what is was called. in the county where i live they require all plumbing to be hooked to the septic. it's not septic water that's coming in (That would be gross), but the drain is slow, so when the pump goes off because of the location of the kitchen piping in refrence to the pump it fills up the sink. i guess my dad poored some cooking oil down the drain. i know they should have it repaired, but that's on them, i don't have the funds to that i just wanted to know if puting in a disposal, with the food that goes down the drain, if that would slow the drain down any further and cause more problems?
