I would try some Soft scrub with bleach, Ajax or Comet. Scrub the sink and let it soak before rinsing.:)

Use CermaBryte. It is made for cleaning ceramic/glass stove tops. You can buy it at Home Depot in the appliance section. Or Ace Hardware should have it too. It should come with a delicate duty scrub sponge, if not buy one that specifically states "Delicate duty" that is safe for ceramic. It works great on my ceramic coated cast iron sink and gets 99% of the scratches out. I just put some on the scruby side of the sponge and work it in using a circle pattern. Then rinse away. I find it easier to use if the sink is wet.

I have a similar sink and I swear by a product called Barkeeper's Friend along with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It does take a significant amount of elbow grease, but it looks great when I'm done. I always "shine" the sink afterward with a window cleaner and paper towel.

The best cleaner I've found is Barkeeper's Friend. Its sold at Bed, Bath and Beyond and Linens and Things.
Its a finer grit than comet and does a really good job of cleaning up and smoothing out scratches in sinks.

One thing I would try filling the sink with a mixture of water and bleach. Depending on how bad the stains are, add more bleach. Let that sit there for a few hours then come back, let the water out of the sink and clean with a household cleaner, the bleach should loosen if not take out the stains then the cleaner will remove any stains that are left. Rinse the sink well before using the sink to wash food.

I would wash it with either Bon Ami or Borax. Both are great alternatives to harsh chemicals- they don't contain chlorine, perfume or dye. You can wet the sink then sprinkle either powder on and clean it with a sponge or cloth. Or you can just wet the sponge, sprinkle the Borax or Bon Ami on the sponge and then wipe out the sink. Both clean and will leave a nice shine.

Clorox Cleanup Gel. Layer it all over your sink and leave it there for 1/2 hour. Scrub it with a sponge and rinse. That's all it should take.

try a product named CLR - it removes caalcium lime and rust deposits and really makes a huge difference. Buy the kind in the large gray bottle not the spray on kind and it should work wonders!!! Good luck - I am the same way you are about keeping things spiffy!!

Plug it, fill with water, pour lots of (regular) bleach into the water, let it sit for at least 30 to 40 minutes. Open your windows and try not to breathe the bleach.
