I've seen on Find and Design where they've refinished end tables, coffee tables, and Arimoires (which looked finished) just by applying gel stain. Can you really refinish them with out stripping and heavy sanding?

fire, intruder, etc. Our house is two floors and the bedrooms are on the second floor. In case of an emergency what things should I have up there to be prepared. I want us to be able to easily escape/exit from a window. We have a 10 month old and a 3 yr old, if that makes any difference.

I recently painted my kitchen bright green and decided it looks terrible with my ceramic tile. I am now considering repainting it a light purple/lavendar color. How difficult would it be to go from a bright vibrant color to a pastel?

My husband and I are going to be building a 2,000 sq ft home. We both want brick but have been told it is around $12,000 more than vinyl. We live in middle Tennessee. Thanks!

I have wall lights which I no longer use and I want to remove them and replace pictures in this area. Is is safe to put a picture hook above this area or does the electicity supply have to be blanked off?. If blanking them off what exactly needs to be purchased, or do you just push the plastic block in to the wall? Can anyone give me any advice?

They are in my mother's flower bed; however, she does not remember planting them. I assume they are weeds, but she does not want to pull them out until she knows.

The first one has spiked leaves and is growing upward only, here are 2 images:

My bathtub is this hiddeous yellow from the 70s. There is nothing wrong with it except the color. I hate to go through all the trouble to install a new one because I am sick of trying to coordinate the rest of the bathroom with the yellow tub and toilet. Is there a way I can paint the tub or strip the color off to refinish it? Toilets are inexpensive so I am not worried about replacing that.

I have five grandfather hickory trees. They are beautiful and would never dream of cutting them down. But this year they are dropping thousands of nuts all through the yard. Mowing has become hazardous. How can I efficiently get them up off the ground? And once collected, can I do something with them besides just throw them out?

Thank you!
