It does this tsshhhhhh sound for like 3 seconds, about once every hour.

Additional details: it also has a barely detectable trickling all the time. I think it's trying to refill itself maybe?

Other than that, it works perfectly fine. No leaks or anything. Do I tighten some valve or something to get it to stop, or is this normal?

Have a 1960's built house with old wiring, the fixture out of the box does not match the wires coming from the ceiling. How do I match them correctly. Have already curled my hair twice trying. Ideas?

My contractor was supposed to start work on our house first week of June (stone patio, painting the inside of the house, some electric work and tile work). He didn't show up that week and we called him the very first day to inquire about it. Well, he says "oh sorry, i hurt my hand 4 WEEKS AGO, and so i'm running two weeks behind." He didn't bother to call us after his injury which I thought was very unprofessional.

He's been very lazy about staying in touch with us about the projects and tries to weasel his way out of some work days. I do not feel that we should pay him the full amount per our contract. He is 4 weeks behind on his project (per our contract) and we are truly annoyed. We have patio stone sitting on our driveway for almost 6 weeks...its ridiculous.

How do I tell him (at the end) that we are not paying him the full amount? Is it legal? I think it should be since he didn't fulfill his part of the contract time-wise.

I just moved into an apartment, and it definitely smells like smoke. I've tried air fresheners, but now it just smells like flowers AND cigarettes. Is there anything that will help me? I hate walking into my apartment and being hit in the face with the smoky smell and I'm paranoid that I'm going out smelling like this, too. Thanks!

I have installed a kitchen stove wall mounted 600 cfm fan and connected 6 " flexible duct to existing damper located on outside wall. Tested the fan before installing, the fan blows air pretty good, however when I connected the duct to the fan and turned the fan on, the moving air makes a noise and blows inside!
The duct lenghts is less than 30" and has one 90 degree transition to the outside wall.
Where the problem can be?

Honey bees have built a hive in the outer layer of my chimney. They don't get in the house yet. The hole they go in and out of is very high. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them would bee appreciated.

Getting new granite countertops, Keywest Gold. Must choose new sink. Think I would like a black composite sink. Does anyone know if that or a stainless sink is better?

I recently bought a house with three apple trees and although I love the shade from these trees, the fallen apples and low-hanging branches (from the weight of the apples) are driving me crazy. I just want the apples to go away, at least on one or two trees.

I bought a couple of rolls of Magic Cover paper. While applying it to my dresser drawers, I noticed a bit of blue on my fingertips. I thought the whole point of contact paper was to protect the contents of the drawer, not stain them, so I'm hoping the blue is from something else. Has anyone else had experience with this?
