Oh boy I did the same thing years ago, I bought a pool set it up and grass grew!!!!!!!!!!!
What is actually happening is the grass roots are under your pool, and plant life is SO strong that the blades of grass are cutting through the pool to reach the sunlight!.
There is nothing you can do short of emptying the pool.
Then do it right! Several dozen bags of sand and a tarp will keep the grass from growing under the pool.
NEXT YEAR!
But for this year, well, just dive down and clip the grass close to the bottom, if you try to pull it the pool will leak like a sieve!!!
Believe me I did it all ready! But It is pretty amazing how strong the blades of grass really are to push through!

I agree with bugsie as to the cause. I tried something a little different, though. I laid out that weed mat that you use in gardens. It only comes in 3 ft. width, so overlaid it, then put visqueen (sp?) on top of that, then laid pool out. For 2 years, never had a problem with grass.

Is there water in the pool??? If so, you are not treating it with chemicals, because they would not allow grass to grow. I guess I need more clarification or a picture.

Did you try an algaecide that you can add in high dosage to get the stuff gone. It claims you can swim in it a few hours after adding it. You might need to do some brush scrubbing and vacuuming after it works.
