It heats up great then cools off after about 5 minutes or so...

Try cleaning you vent. It could be stopped up with lintt and it has a temperature safety shut off.

After you clean everything including the vent into the wall....you may have to call ServiceMaster or some such to clean that tube out all the way to the exit........and you've removed the front panel and vacuumed inside.............and it still won't stay on........call for help. Thermostat may be shot.

Hire an appliance repair person to diagnose and suggest a fix. You can't do this yourself. If it's broken, you will need to replace it. Done.
