I recently bought a house with three apple trees and although I love the shade from these trees, the fallen apples and low-hanging branches (from the weight of the apples) are driving me crazy. I just want the apples to go away, at least on one or two trees.

Yes, there is something you can spray on your tree:

However, if your trees are tall like mine, I don't have the equipment to spray to the top, even with standing on a ladder or the roof. I'm thinking chain saw is best bet.

PS: Also spraying Sevin at blossom time will abort the flowers, but also kill the honeybees, so for that reason I wouldn't do it. We need all the honeybees we can keep so we can continue to grow food!

while the plant existence open they'll, with a bit of luck pollinated; then they'll initiate making apples which must be waiting for deciding on interior the autumn. inspite of the undeniable fact that, having only been transplanted, they could drop the plant existence and not flower lower back till next spring. that could desire to advise no fruit till the autumn of 2012.

If you cut down two of the trees the other one will not produce fruit because they have to cross pollinate, other than that......

You could spray lime sulfer after the buds are starting to open, but that is a lot of work.

Just, get a goat and tie him under the trees, he will keep it clean.

I would try trimming some of the branches back, especially the ones with the apples on them.
You will still have the shade that you love. :)))
