In January, a NICEIC electrician installed inset halogen lights in my house. I asked them to install fire rated ones with caps but they insisted that I don't need them and installed normal ones.
Are they really safe? Is it legal for them to install non-fire rated ones?

I have a small hand dolly, made in China, with rubber wheels that smell unbelievably bad. My 2 small kids' bikes also smell. I recently bought a small desk, with rubber drawer inserts, all Chinese, and the rubber inserts stink! What gives?

Why is it so hard to find trouble free trades men in the UK? I have to watch their every move in order to get things done correctly. They are not aware of building regulations and overlook things.
Maybe, TESCO or B&Q can train truely skillful tradesmen and sell their services at very reasonable prices..

I've been using quikcrete's fast setting concrete to try and set a bastketball pole. But its not holding the pole very well. I'm using it for that Derek Jeters hit-a-way and after a few hard swings the pole comes loose. The hole I dug is about 14inches by 14 inches, then place the pole, pour dry mix and add water. I've tried 3 times already. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have been asked to quote for a job in France identical to some I done in England. However I am not sure what the differences are between french and english installations if any and whether it has to be signed off by a spark with french qualifications as a similar one in Ireland has to be.

Is there anything I can do to remove or at least lessen the scratch on our new stainless steel stove???

There seems to be 1 bumble bee hovering right outside my door. I was observing the bee and it would attack every flying insect that came 10 feet near it (butterfly and otherbees) and then return to its spot. I was within 3 feet of it and it would not attack. I'm curious, because i've heard rumours that they can't sting, should I eliminate this bee? Because I feel it is guarding something like a hive and I don't want more of these guys flying all around my backyard.

I have the dirt all turned and dug up ready to plant my vegetable garden but I noticed a lot of ants in the dirt. I am thinking when my veggies grow the ants will eat them? Will they? What is a safe way to get rid of the ants without putting poison in my vegetables?

Paint the walls? Coffee table, rug? Or should we just toss it? If you give me an email address I can also forward a picture.

My water heater started leaking again for the 2nd time in 2 months in my apartment. If they don't fix it right this time around i'm pretty nervous about staying there as i've heard leaky heaters can be dangerous to live with. What do you suggest I do? I love the apartment complex, i've lived there for a year and a half now, and I just moved into the apartment i'm in a few months ago, and don't really want to pack up again unless that is a last resort. Any advice? Thanks!!
