My water heater started leaking again for the 2nd time in 2 months in my apartment. If they don't fix it right this time around i'm pretty nervous about staying there as i've heard leaky heaters can be dangerous to live with. What do you suggest I do? I love the apartment complex, i've lived there for a year and a half now, and I just moved into the apartment i'm in a few months ago, and don't really want to pack up again unless that is a last resort. Any advice? Thanks!!

I would definately tell the landlord again. If this is just the second time they may have just overlooked a small leak. There are so many places on a water heater that will leak. If you really feel strongly about it you may tell him that you want to move unless he/she replaces with a new heater. If it has rusted a small pin hole in the tank they will not be able to fix it and will have to get a new one. Patching will not work!

All the above answers are good ones. I want to add - obtain renter's insurance, and make sure it will cover things like water heater leaks, etc... The insurance is not that expensive, and you will be SOOO glad you have it if you need it.
