We just recently bought a new stove for our kitchen and my mom accidently used a dish scrub to wash off a spot of food and it scratched it!!! Yikes! She was sooo upset, cause she wanted it to stay all nice and neat and now its scratched.

Is there anything I can do to remove or at least lessen the scratch on our new stainless steel stove???

They used to make a polish called Simichrome. Made in Germany it was sold at motorcycle shops. Very popular because it would remove scratches from almost anything. From stainless steel and chrome to plastic windshields. Now you may have to do the entire stove top, but it will be the slickest looking one in your city. Give it a try.
Hope this was helpful.

To repair stainless steel, you will have to sand them out. Try a very fine steel wool. You might have to use a fine to extra fine sand paper (wet sanding would probably be best). You will have to sand the spots down, and then sand the whole area to keep the surface looking the same. Be careful, because you are removing metal to remove the scratches. If the scratch is extremely deep, you would be better off to remove most of it and leave the deepest part. If you remove enough metal to remove a very deep scratch, then the metal in that spot will be thin. Good luck.

Unfortunately, no. For all it's resistances, stainless is definately not scratch resistant. That's why I don't like it.
