I put some acetone fingernail polish remover in a small plastic cup, in which the polish remover ate through the cup and leaked onto the dresser. The spot is about the size of a hand towel smack dab in the middle of our dresser. What do I do to repair this, I am desperate to have this done before my husband gets back in 2 months. The furniture restoration people said it would cost $450 to repair it, I can buy a new dresser with that. HELP!!!!

It's a great old century home that, unfortunately, has become the eyesore of the neighborhood and is bringing down neighboring property values. I considered offering to help him scrape and paint his house this summer, but I don't want to seem intrusive. Any ideas on how to approach this? He's a nice guy, so I don't want to offend him.

If the inside of a Microwave door had been burned/melted and has caused a small hole, is it still safe to use?.....The hole doesn't go all the way through to the outside...just through the "dotted" layer.

I tried mowing the lawn at my new house this weekend. After about 10 minutes, the engine sounded like it was having trouble and it started to sputter and then it died. I started it again and used it for another minute and then it died again. I couldn't figure out why so I wheeled it off to the garage and looked around. When I start the engine, it runs for about 5 to 10 seconds before dying.I thought it might be the old gas since it was from a tank from about a year ago, but then I noticed that the air filter was missing. In reading the manual, it said that you should never run the motor without the air filter. What should I do? Take it in for service somewhere? Is it worth it or should I consider getting another engine or entire new mower? It's only 3 yrs old - Toro Personal Pace.

Im asking because I have a bit of a problem. I was under the impression that our toilet was clogged because one of the boys put some toys in there. I took the toilet off and nothing. No toys. No obstruction. That I can see or tell anyways. So I put the toilet back on. It only flushes at 10% power. It also leaks in the basement. I know the seal is broke.
Now I have turned off the water to the toilet. Its been a week or so. Now Im getting Air in the kithen faucet. Any chance the 2 are related???? Also do I need a seal for my toilet or a new toilet.

I'm digging a flower bed in my backyard. In Pearland, TX (a suburb outside Houston) we have lots of clay. So digging a hold just big enough for a bulb probably will not allow for enough room to grow. How much do I have to dig to allow for some flowers to bloom freely?

I am having a problem with moss growing on the artificial carpeting that covers the front steps of my house. It's on the north side and receives absolutely no sun, though it does drain well after it rains. There are landscaping shrubs on either side of the steps, therefore I am hesitant to use bleach or salt water. I would like suggestions on ways to control the moss growth without endangering the health of the shrubs.

I have an old fireplace in my apartment. It looks as if it is cast-iron, but someone has painted it white (which I hope to return to it's original state eventually-next project-any ideas on how to do that are welcomed!!!!) and it is bricked in with red brick. The opening is small 14"X20"???? and rounded, like an upside down "U". I just want to do something different than just have red brick to look at.....I have a ton of acrylic paint and thought I could mess around with those..... any ideas?
