Im asking because I have a bit of a problem. I was under the impression that our toilet was clogged because one of the boys put some toys in there. I took the toilet off and nothing. No toys. No obstruction. That I can see or tell anyways. So I put the toilet back on. It only flushes at 10% power. It also leaks in the basement. I know the seal is broke.
Now I have turned off the water to the toilet. Its been a week or so. Now Im getting Air in the kithen faucet. Any chance the 2 are related???? Also do I need a seal for my toilet or a new toilet.

get a toilet auger and run it through the toilet. Put a new wax ring on the toilet. Air in the lines is common, I doubt they are related, if air can get into the line from an outside source water would be coming out of the same source. If the faucet isn't sputtering like crazy spraying water everywhere, don't worry about it.

Chances are whatever toy went into the toilet, is caught in the trap of the toilet.

The toys may be stuck in the "goose neck" of the toilet, where the trap is. The trap provides the water seal to the sewer line, keeping sewer gasses contained. If you pulled the toilet, you would need to replace the wax ring that seals the toilet to the sewer connection. These are readily available at the hardware store. Try running a snake through the toilet to get the toys out of it.
The air in your kitchen faucet is completely unrelated. It may be from a repair the City or water municipality did on the water lines. But it is definitely not from the toilet fiasco.

Remove the toilet again and see if you can run a snake down the main drain pipe to find if there are any blockages. You can try pouring a five gallon bucket of water down the pipe to see if it backs up. This will tell you if there is a blockage. After removing the blockage (if present) install a new seal and reset the toilet and hook it up. The air could be related because the toilet shutoff valve may be allowing air to be sucked into the water line when using other fixtures. This can happen even if the valve is not leaking water.

Yes the two can be related I have air in my kitchen line for a bit when the bathroom was being renovated. As far as a new seal goes yes you should have put a new seal in when you lifted the toilet up.

The lack of flushing power could be multiple things from the bad seal to blockage somewhere in the lines etc. Best bet would be to break down and have a plumber come in and look at it.

first of all you pulled up the toilet every time you do this put a new wax ring back in place second the object can be down lower into the pipe works and with air in the lines your outside pipe may have a hole in it turn on all the fixtures at the same time to bleed the air out it will take about 20 mins make sure your bowel is tight to the floor too and check or recheck all your conections you made if the air keeps happening go out side and see if the dirt is getting wet in spots the plastic lines do brake time to time with every thing off go to the water meter and see if it's moving and change the wax ring Now your floor could rot out
