Our bathroom pipes freeze and we now know to watch the weather and leave a small amount of water draining from the sink and the shower. I am concerned that even with the water on that the shower drain could still freeze and then the house would be flooded. What is the probability that the drain would freeze if the hot and cold water are left on in the shower? I know the real issue is fixing this problem that we are having with the bathroom, but that is another story.

My mom's bathroom has poor ventilation and the walls are always full of black mold stains, how can you get rid of them or cover them up, even better, how can you make them go away? I've tried mold and mildew resistant paint and it still comes back! What can I do? Tile is out of the question, the bathroom is too small. The walls are just concrete and paint. Please Help!

What is the cartridge? What is a thermocoupler? Why doesn't hot water come from the faucet thats closest to the boiler?

Based on the answers given I see nowhere to clean with a tooth pic. So I took a pic http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f245/ElBrujo23/DSC00003.jpg

I do feel a a few drips of warm water but not hot. Also before I took it apart, the water would turn off when the lever is all the way on the hot side.
A few things to add: I have all the other faucets in house work, I have two restrooms, I have not had a need to use this restroom since about 2 years now. So thats why I haven't fixed it. Can someone please help.

In the living room of my 115 year old farm house the original structure of the house was built with 12-14 inch logs which run every foot or so above the basement and under our living space. We bought the hardwood floors to install but have not put them in yet because the floor bows terribly. Between the center of the floor and the outwards walls there is atleast a 6" difference..The logs are sound. The weather is so drastic here -25 to 90+. What can we do to even it out without emptying my wallet completely ? Thanks !

I moved from Southern California to Northern Wisconsin
and I am not used to the harsh weather. We have a deep well on our farm which is about 25 feet from the house . The well is above ground (now with a heat lamp on it). It is in a casing about 6 inches wide with a metal pipe sticking up out of the top 7". First , I want to know if I pour hot water down the small pipe if it will help. The problem is I don't know where the freeze is. The pipe goes from the well underground and then up through our basement. which is 7 ft under the ground. The motor of the pump hums but the water tank , which is in the basement is not making the clinking noise it usually makes when the water is working properly. How do I find out where the freeze is ? We have had -25 below with terrible winds and very little snow this year (2 ") I have small children and farm animals and buying water by the jug is getting old. I would appreciate any advice .and No-I am not moving ! : )Someone mentioned antifreeze ???

I have scrapped off the dried up white grout with care but the marks left by the dried up grout cannot be cleaned. What soloution or technique can I use to give the ceramic tiles it's original glazed shine again. I understand if this white grout was wiped off with a white cloth immediately while installing the ceramic tiles will not create this problem. But we have some careless, irresponsible contractor laborers who didn't bother to clean up after the mess. PLEASE HELP SOMEBODY!!

It seems like something is expanding under there but I don't know what. I thought it was just the hardwood floor warping b/c there was a leak from my refrigerator but now the leak has been plugged but whatever is underneath the hardwood floor keeps expanding. Any ideas of what to do would be helpful, thanks.
