LIME-A-WAY
We have the same problem and I've tried most things for sale.
Get the water level BELOW the ring and spray a coat of Lime-A-Way... Apply a second spray a couple of hours later. Let stand as long as possible, and poof.. it will be gone.

Laugh all you want... TANG!!! yes that formerly ubiquitous space beverage complete with the unearthly color will clean your toilet!!! The acidity does the trick! dump a packet of the dry stuff into the bowl before bed or just before heading off to work so its got a few hours to sit and soak (and perhaps freak out the next person to use that bathroom) swish it when you get home or get up, and it should be dissolved when you get home.
If you still have a bit of a line, use a HANDLED foot scrub thingy that gets the callouses off (the kind with a rock- that's pumice) so you don't have to touch the toilet water itself or scrape your hands with the stone- and promise me that you will NOT use the same stone on your feet- eeewww!!! good excuse to go and buy yourself a new one!!
Good luck!!!

There is a product called lime away and another one sold by the dollar store that I can't remember the name of...it's cheap and they have it for tile and sinks also. You have to put it in the toilet and leave it overnight and then clean. It is really great..has the word works in the name. I ran an apartment complex and we used it all the time. The trick is leaving it in and letting it do the work. Good luck.

Use a pumi stone. Be sure that it is wet and that you scrub lightly. You don't want to scrub too hard and scratch the porcelin. If it gets scratched it will leave marks that hold more dirt and grime. It is definitely worth it thought! I wouldn't even think twice. Good Luck! =0)

see if you can find a product called IRON OUT.
you can also use it for the water tank. it works wonders!
i have an 80 year house. the tank had never been cleaned. i used this stuff and it is really white again.
you should find it at big box stores like Menards, Home Depot and Lowes.

Try pouring a liter or two of Coke, yes, that's Coca Cola, in the bowl and let it soak over night. Brush and flush the next day and most stains will be gone.

I would try CLR or limeaway, etc. Pouring a 2 liter of Coke might work too.

Pour some bleach into it that will whiten it.
Make sure when using bleach that you have a window or door open.
Take care!
