Our bathroom pipes freeze and we now know to watch the weather and leave a small amount of water draining from the sink and the shower. I am concerned that even with the water on that the shower drain could still freeze and then the house would be flooded. What is the probability that the drain would freeze if the hot and cold water are left on in the shower? I know the real issue is fixing this problem that we are having with the bathroom, but that is another story.

It is very unlikely that the drain would freeze shut. If your home is not built on permafrost (even if it was measures were probably taken to protect the pipes) and you don't have constant extreme below zero freezing temperatures, in a home with no heat at all, as long as the drain pipes are not exposed to the outside or an outside wall there should not be a problem.
If you must be gone for an extended period, I suggest you shut the water off at the meter and leave the valves throughout the house and even the outdoor spigots open to allow pressure to escape and if any water that might be left in the pipes freezes it should expand length-wise in the pipe not causing them to burst.
