I love the look of stainless steel appliances...but I have seen them in other homes, and they always look dirty, smudged etc. I have heard it is really tough to keep them from looking like this. Anybody regret buying them due to the cleaning factor? And can anyone offer alternatives to get the look without the smudges or without going to basic white??

Is this just about the minimum you need to not blow a fuse? Or do we need to have an electrician add more amps? The home is brand new.

I needed 14- 7"x3' stair risers. I pondered 1x8x8 ft pine boards, but this multiple density fiber board was boasted cheaper at 1.10 a linear ft. I got a 1x12"x16 ft mdf board that cost $50 and I got four rises.

If you have or had any of the 3, could you please give me your opinion on them,, please no smart a$$ answers,, go somewhere else to leave that . Heres my choices All 3 are 12 amp, bagless uprights ::: . Hoover Widepath Foldaway,, , or Bissell Clearview 2 ,, or Shark Roadster with bottom emptying dust cup. I don't know anything about Sharks, but I like the fact that its a bottom emptying dust cup. and the filter can be rinsed off. I read on a question from here that their really loud, but I don't care, I just want the one that picks up the best. So please give me your opinions. Thanks!!!

New pair of boots got wet and spotted. One spot is at least 6" X 3". What can I do? They dried naturally.

I'm about to lug some stuff into the attic but I'm wondering if there are items I can purchase that I can toss into boxes to prevent moisture build-up over time?

The area is about 4-6" deeper than the adjoining kitchen floor. By adding the 2 x 2's I can raise the level and make both rooms equal in level. By doing this, would the area between the 2 x 2's make the subfloor too weak for the tile and grout and result in cracking?

I'm looking for standard sheets of wet/dry sandpaper in the 4000, 6,000, 8,000 and 12,000 grit range. What's a good source for this type of thing? This seems to be way beyond the range of most suppliers. Right now I've only got up to 2,000 grit and it's just not fine enough.

My mom and I are having a pole barn built..we were told that we did in fact need a permit. Now, the builder (owns a construction company, obviously) has told my mom that SHE needs to purchase the permit because it will be cheaper for her to purchase it, versus him purchasing it. Apparently, construction companies are charged more for permits. Is this true, and if not, why do you think he would say that?

We live in North Queensland and have a magnificent hibiscus tree - approx. 4 x 4 metres large. Full of fresh green leaves and full of buds but it will not flower. It is the common red flower. All similar hibiscus are in flower except this one. Any ideas? Help.
