Use DIF. Mix it up in a pump sprayer with hot water and spray walls. This will soften glue and make easy to remove.

There's a product called DIF, you can get it at Home Depot or somewhere like that. You dilute it with water, spread it on with a roller or brush, wait 15 minutes and the glue will wipe right off!

I hear DIF is good, but I am cheap and use warm water. Then my painter says to prime it, patch any holes, and then sand before painting. Priming it is supposed to make that brown cardboard stuff under the paper less fuzzy so you can sand and smooth easier.

dont purchase anything from the store, free warm water and a wash cloth will do the trick, if you have some paper backing remaining after the face of the paper is removed then soak the paper backing with water

Just wet it with a spray bottle, let sit until the water soaks in and scrape it right off. It's easier than I thought it would be.

Mix water and washing detergent. Spray it on the wall and lightly scub the wall paper off.

spray and scrape a final time with hot water and DIF, then when all is dry, sand the crap out of it, seal with shellac, (binzinzer white pigmented shellac), then paint as you would normally paint it. i do this all the time, i am a professional decorator/painter/artist.
