Yesterday my offer was accepted and today someone else in a chain as offered over the asking price. The people selling would prefer someone without a chain but I can’t beat the new offer what are the chances of loosing this home we have fallen in love with?

No contract has been signed it was only verbal over the phone

I won the house she has taken my bid so I am now a home owner!!!! Thank you all for your help Its going to be hard to pick a best answer as you were all so helpful

Was the offer singed? If so the house is yours assuming you can get financed. If the offer was not signed then the seller can look at other offers. Good luck to you and happy house hunting.

Just hope the seller is as generous as the guy we bought our first house off we offered asking price and someone offered £2000 over but the seller said it was difficult enough for first time buyers to get on the ladder without people making silly offers over the asking price so rejected the higher offer and accepted ours. Top Bloke!

if your offer was accepted yesterday and a better one came in today, then that's tough cookies.since the owners of the house already took your offer, if they renege on it, i would start lawsuit proceedings.

A verbal agreement is a Contract in New York...............

if you have a contract try to enforce it
