the thicker the mill the better, they last alot longer. Instead of buying a moisture berrier, buy one that has sound muffling to it, or you will hear every foot step.

i purchased a house with pergo in three of the rooms and it is holding up really well,looks nice, for being laminate.

Pergo is really good. It is expensive so if you are on a tight budget you might have to go with something else.
