You might have to change the hole pipes.That what I did.

What area do you live in??? this is an important factor in this problem---if your water source is a lake then the lake water may be ""turning over"" at this time of the year and this is caused by the ambient temperature----- if you live in an apartment house that has a water tank on the roof that may be the source of the mold.....you really need to define your question and give us more info so the answer can be more to the point...... just switching the H2O heater may not be the solution and you spent the $$'s needlessly________

You could try draining your hot water heater and then have it refill. If you still smell mold, call a plumber.

I heard this on the radio just the other day. You have you run a bleach solution through the water heater. Also turn the heater up so that it doesn't happen again.

well you could but you should probably ask a professional because that might not be the only problem, especially if you live in an old house

Drain it first. If it persists, call a plumber; maybe a replacement would be a good idea.

IF YOUR HEATER SMELLS LIKE MOLD CHANCES ARE THE COIL IS LEAKING .....DEFINITLY REPLACE IT
