I'm guessing this room has windows? If so, open them up and if possible put a fan in the window (facing outside) to start circulating air quicker. You could also purchase Febreeze, or any kind of deodorizer that eliminates the smell. (Don't forget that perfume or body spray just masks the smell instead of eliminating it!) Depending on the severity, you can also wash any linens in the room like curtains or seat covers!

The ionizer machines work best. Sprays just cover up the smell temporarily. Clean your furniture fabrics, curtains and carpets then rent an ionizer. It worked for me. All the funky old house smells are gone and have been for 18 months. Good luck.

Burn it down? No, seriously, one of those ionizers will remove the smell of cigarrette smoke from a room. The higher quality, the better. It's what hotels use to create "non-smoking" rooms.

Light a couple of candles - but be careful you use them safely, or you could go to Wilkinsons and buy a product called instant Odour Zapper. It smells gorgeous, is not an aerosol but a liquid spray. It comes in three perfumes. I have sparkling citrus and mint.

Open the windows, actually there is an air neutraliser that you can get that will take the remaining smell away.

First, don't let people smoke in there, but if they do, you'll have to leave the windows open for a while.

Open the windows. Turn furnace fan on. This is the best way and you get fresh air at the same time.
