Ok. I've already done the rest of the house, including the gfi in the bathroom...it's all good. The breakers in question involve a split oulet a split switch & outlet and a plain and simple outlet. Yes, I broke off the tab between the red & black wires on the split ones....but the breakers (there are two) are still poppinng (making me think it has to do with one of the split ones....any thoughts? Could something be faulty...if so how do I figure out which one it is?

I am in the process of re-tiling my kitchen floor, and I have removed the old tiles, and now I have tons of black adhesive glue stuck on the floor. I have already removed a great deal with a heat gun, but Is there an easier quicker way? Can I put something on it that would make it easier? The stuck on glue is black and its hardened(I make it softer with the heat gun, and then I scrape it off). Thank you for your help!

My husband took my favorite plastic coffee mug to work with him and apparently left coffee in it until it went yucky (think a week or better). Now my mug smells really weird and it makes anything put in it have a funky taste. How can I get the smell/taste out of the mug. Tried washing it several times, nothing has worked so far.

The fan in my fireplace has stopped working. Am I right that it could be either the switch, the sensor, or the fan-motor.

Is there an easy way of knowing which one. What I am getting is a very low pitch humming noise.

I think that I can change the switch, or sensor easily. But, I can not even locate the fan. Could it be behind ( at the back of the box), and if so, do I need to take the whole unit out, meaning I should unattach the gas line.

Thanks for your help

My propane heater is beyond repair and needs to be replaced. I'd like to replace it with something that's more efficient and doesn't require refills. That means an electric heater (there are no natural gas lines in my neighborhood). Has anyone here used one of the newer heat pump models? Is the increased efficiency worth the extra money? Will it heat up an 8-person spa within a reasonable amount of time?

We just had Robbins solid oak 3-1/4" hardwood prefinished flooring delivered today. Can it be installed immediately upon receipt or does it need to be "in the environment" for a specified period of time before being installed so it can acclimate to the environment to prevent warping, etc.?

i want to remove an 8' section of a 1st floor interior load bearing wall of a 2 story house with a concrete floor slab. how do I know if the floor slab will take the more concentrated loads from the wall next to the opening? any hints to support and remove the section of the wall? i expect to use 2-2x12's as a header over the opening to catch the ceiling joists, supported by 3-2x4 jack studs on each end. temporary supports will be 4x6 headers on 2-2x6 columns each end, about 2 feet out from the existing wall. ceiling joists are running perpendicular to the load bearing wall. I have a fair amout of experience in home repairs, etc.

Hi, im a landscape architecture student and im now doing my project design. My question is, is it possible to plant carpet grass vertically? i know there are vertical planting using the 'cells' but they are mostly to plant shrubs, never grass. In my project, I want to create steps, but all around the surface (all the threads and risers of each step) I want to use grass. I have been searching everywhere to find information about this and I thought I should seek advice or help from experienced landscape architects or horticulturalists.

by the way, I also wonder if carpet grass (axonopus fissifolius) is shade tolerant. In my design project, Im going to use carpet grass under a viewing tower-like structure measuring height of around 3 metres and a circular viewing platform of 7 metres of diameter. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thankyou in advance. regards.
