My bathroom mirror is new, and seems to have some kind of residue on it that leaves streaks when cleaned.

There are some VERY nice chairs for sell with a dining table. They aren't as dark as I'd like them to be though. Since the cushions are still wrapped in plastic would I be able to sand them down, and paint it another color??? What kind of paint would I use. I want black... Thanks!

I've tried Viakal which is supposed to work wonders...it does on shower bases and tiles, but really doesnt shift it from the door. Could it be as simple as vinegar...?

can anyone help me, I need to screw 4 small (no.6 x 12mm) screws in a tight space - about 30mm and standard snub screwdivers are too long. Hex socket would be ideal but you can't get hex socket wood screws. Any sensible suggestions would be helpful, any silly ones will lighten the gloom, thanks

Hello. I am living in Panama and would like to grow tomatoes. I have not been able to find tomato plants or packaged seeds, I guess because it is warm here so they can grow stuff year round, but still the tomatoes I get from the store are nothing compared to the "real" homegrown tomatoes. Is there a way to use the seeds from an actual tomato and be able to have new plants? Should I just stick a tomato in the dirt and hope for the best?

I got the oily feeling out of the carpet with an anti oil shampoo and there is no stain just the oder when you walk in the room. I need a solution or powder that will -kill- the smell -not- cover it up. Most oder killers for carpet work on organic and protine like food but this is from the antifreeze. The antifreeze is gone but the chemicals still give off a smell. Please only answer if you know what you are talking about. Not unemployed people using up time on the i-net.

The inside of my convection microwave oven is stainless steel. I hesitate to use any strong cleaning solution on the side with the perforations for fear that it might damage the heating device or not be able to remove the cleaning solutions if it seeps on the other side of the holes. But I want the stains out.

I have pets so there is some difficult staining I have to contend with. I'd also like to keep the price reasonable.

With so many cheats in the building/decorating trade, there must be a register of offending firms who rob thousands of customers by taking deposits on repair jobs but fail to complete. As a house holder, I have suffered from these scams for a long time but have not been able to find any register on the web on this issue. A UK/London shared experience would be useful.

IS IT EFFICIENT TO TURN THE 1ST FLOOR HEATER DOWN TO 60 DEGREE AT NIGHT AND IT'LL TAKE UP TO 3 HRS TO WARM UP TO 72 DEGREE IN THE MORNING VS. HAVING IT RUN AND MAINTAINED AT 67 DEGREE ALL NIGHT AND IT'LL TAKE 1 HR TO WARM UP AT 72 DEGREE IN THE MORNING?
