My bathroom mirror is new, and seems to have some kind of residue on it that leaves streaks when cleaned.

shaving cream and newspaper. Rub the shaving cream into the glass... plus it won't steam up for at last a week or two.

Try this cloth. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $3 bucks a piece. I have ordered them and use them on everything, especially mirrors & windows. They are made out of tiny fibers that work like razor blades. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. Use em over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!
I even waxed my car with it! I am sold on this ...I encourage you to try it out.

We use a cap of white vinegar, 8 ounces of water, mix them up... spray, use a squeegee to scrub the mirror, and then take off the excess solution..and to keep it from fogging during hot showers we smear some shaving cream after it is thoroughly cleaned...but with the excess shaving cream wipe it down with a lint free cloth.

I used to work in hotels and we would use rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle with an old pillow case on the mirrors. It works well!

When you clean a mirror or glass use a paper towel or rag. Spray the surface you are cleaning then wipe it. Take another PAPER TOWEL and wipe it a last time.
