can anyone help me, I need to screw 4 small (no.6 x 12mm) screws in a tight space - about 30mm and standard snub screwdivers are too long. Hex socket would be ideal but you can't get hex socket wood screws. Any sensible suggestions would be helpful, any silly ones will lighten the gloom, thanks

You can find right angled screwdrivers at most hardware stores. Failing that, I'd try to bend an existing screwdriver. It might break, but even then all is not lost if you have a small pair of vise-grip pliers. If you have (or can borrow) a 1/4" drive ratchet, there are screwdriver tips made for these, and that would likely be a superior solution. Good luck, hope this helps. One other idea? CRAZY GLUE, NO SCREW!

You can buy angled screwdrivers which look very similar to an Allen key. These will go into most spaces. Also if you use the screw bit made for electric screwdrivers but fit it into an Approx 6mm socket, you can then use this on a standard 1/4" drive socket wrench.

Have you tried Superglue?

Put a small amount of the end of the screwdriver tip and stick on the screw.
When you have it in you should be able to pull or twist the screwdriver off as long as you haven't over done it with the glue.

Find an old screwdriver, bend it in a vice. It might take you a lot of 1/8th turns tho.

Purchase an ''Offset Screwdriver''. It will fit in the space you have. Sears sells them.
