you could try to use a full size comforter but it won't fit adequately. Also you mentioned a comforter set. If set means it comes with the sheets don't do it. The sheets will not fit at all queen is just bigger.

A full sized comforter SET will not fit your queen The comforter will, but probably not the way you would like.

Do some more checking around.I have a queen and use king and they dont fit a queen good.Guess it all depends on the cost.Ihad a queen size comforter and didnt fit worth a darn.Full size on a queen would lay just on top with no,or very little over hang.

The comforter will cover the bed, and the shams will fit your pillows (you did say "set") but the dust ruffle will not fit your box spring. Also, the comforter will not come down very far over the sides, the edges of your sheets will probably hang lower.

It will cover it....but not fit it properly....you might want to get a queen size comforter...

Not very well. If you can afford to, go with a king size. Plenty of room around all sides.

It may, depending on the length and width of the comforter set, but don't count on it.

yes, but it will not hang over the edge as far, if its just you in the bed no big deal, but if you share the bed somone may get cold.

it should, but barely..i mean, it will cover the top, but not hang over the edges at all

Yeah, it will work ok... just don't get full sheets. Me and my hubby made that mistake and had to stretch them too far. They "fit" but barely.
