I'm getting two laying hens. I see these "chicken feeders" at the stores. Is there any reason I can't just put their feed in a pie pan or similar dish?

I bought this townhome about 3 years ago and this has been going on since then. I noticed when it rains hard with some wind there is water leaking down from my large picture window in the back of my room. It is kind of random however when it only leaks when it rains hard and a bit windy. I've had the builder come out here at least 12 times since then and everytime they claim they think they fixed it only to find out it really isn't fixed because it keeps leaking! They keep saying they taped the windows up and it should be ok. I'm growing very tired of this and I'm wondering what are my alternatives? They tell me they can't figure out whats causing the leak.. I find that disturbing considering toll brothers is a luxury home builder and if they can't figure it out who can? Do I have any legal recourse on this? If I let this keep going they'll just keep comming back over and over and but not actually fixing a thing.

I'm painting brand new hardiPlank fiber-cement siding. How long after a good rain, should I wait to avoid painting over and trapping moisture in the siding? If I got good sun all morning, could I start around noon? Or does it take a few days of good sun todry it out?

Thanks in advance!

I am arguing with my roommate about this. He likes to leave his small heater on while he is at work. I insist its dangerous while he insists its perfectly fine as long as its on the low setting.

I know nothing about average utility cost. I went and looked at a 500 square foot apartment that is bascially one main room, a walk in closet, a separate kitchen and a separate bathroom. Anybody have any idea how much it would cost to heat using electric or gas? I live in KC so the wintertime temps can be anywhere from like 15-40 degrees f. Probably would run it 12 hours a day. Thanks. I can provide more info if needed.

Have heard of persons making couter tops with cement, which had been polished to a glass like finish. Can you suggest a book, or books to study more about this?

It's the larger of the two sizes. The coiled element is approx. 7-1/2 inches in diameter. It's held up against the underside of the ceramic with a sheetmetal pan. Tappan, now Frigidaire says it's no longer made, (surprise). Any leads are appreciated.
