The little opening in the toilet goes over a large drain pipe. If you didn't have any grief in the first few moments that rag has already dropped own into a much larger pipe. It is gone and will eventually end up being screened out of the rubbish at the sewage plant. Your house is OK. Save your plumber emergency funds for a real problem.

Mate by now the rats in the main sewer will be squabbling over that cloth......if it wasnt too big it would have gone straight down. The drain from a toilet is 100mm or 4 inch so there should be no dramas.

Chances are that you and your toilet will both be just fine. A wash cloth poses no immediate danger to your toilet since it did not stop up immediately. And just think, someone at the sewage treatment plant will finally be able to complete his bath ensemble!! However, Don't even think of sending him a matching towel as this in not user friendly to your toilet!!

It may have gone through, but I'd keep my eye on it, if it slows down, then I'd call one, I did that once, and it was a mess.
