It really depends. Most of our boilers operate around 5.5-6 BAR, but those are high output boilers. It might be something more like 1.5-2 bar. There should be some max specifications on your boiler. I'm assuming this is the combination boiler/water heater, right? The temperature should be set around 50 degrees C. anything above that can scald you in five minutes and above 55 can sscald you in seconds. If you are careful and don't have to worry about your kids burning themselves, you can set it a little higher, like 52, 53 and mix more cold water, this will cause your hot water to last longer. But you won't need that if your boiler is high output and can heat the water fast enough.

As for the pressure (BAR) you can look at the maximum blow-off pressure on the safety valve (it will be a funny shaped thing sticking out of the top, usually made of brass. If it is set to blow at 2.5 bar, run it at 1.8, and so on. Keep about 0.6-0.8 bar difference between the maximum and the operating pressure.

The pressure should be set at about 1.5bar when the heating system is COLD, it will rise when the heating system is on. The central heating thermostat (on the boiler, not on the wall) should be as high as possible, it makes the heating more efficient. The thermostat on your wall (if you have one) should be set at about 21 degrees. The thermostat for the hot water should be set to what ever you are comfortable with. Hope this helps :)

The pressure gauge should normally be at about 1.5 bar. CH temperature at about 50-60 depending on weather. Hot water if separate temp setting? about 40-50C
