A space heater is an electrical heating device. A radiator is a series of connected pipes in which steam or hot water flows through in order to heat the surrounding area.

Need a little more detail here. Both a (portable) radiator and a space heater do basically the same thing in basically the same way. (Some folks limit the term radiator to a fixed unit). Most generate heat using electricity. There are space heaters however that are used for large open area's that are well ventilated and use kerosene (K1) or propane to generate large amounts of warm air. They generally look like jet engines (and sound like them as well).

As the other poster stated, a space heater is portable. It also produces heat differently than a radiator does. A radiator uses steam, a space heater uses gas or electricity.

There are new portable radiators, that are also electric. The good thing is that they do not have coils and are safer to have if you have children in the house. Watch out because they still get hot. There are coil space heater and also air space heaters.
The big dept stores in your area should be able to give you more info. I think that the radiators are the best ones.

A space heater is usually mobile--meaning you can move it to whichever room you need it in. A radiator is already built into the walls. But the Space Heaters are the most dangerous. They cause several fires every year that are deadly.

Oil filled tend to create a gentle overall heat which takes some tine to dissipate even after the radiator has been turned off.. Regular electric heaters heat instantly, but as the heating elements are in direct contact with the hot air eminating from the heater, there is always a slight odor. experts also claim that the air has a drying effect., so it would appear that oil filled are better.

Radiators normally have heated liquids in them. A space heater uses a electric coil.

A radiator is stationary and emits it's heat from a furnace.

space heaters have a fan and push warm air out. radiators just emit heat.
