The rain has been pelting down in buckets and the water has been coming in underneath the rubber seal on my new garage doors and up to about ten feet along the floor. What can I do to prevent it happening again?

I bought a door peephole (not planning to use for a door) and i put it under water to clean the lense since it was dirty. I dont know what i was thinking. Now its all wet inside the lense and foggy. its been two hours. it got better after 30 minutes. but now its worse than ever. Will it get better on its own? or is there anything i can do to fix it.

Also I must leave out of town in 30 minutes. so i cant go buy a new one.

I would like to get my windows tinted to see outside and block from being seen inside from outside.I don't want to spend too much.all of this is because my dog likes to look through the windows and I don't want anyone to know that I have a dog in the house.

I have a few stainless steel things in my kitchen, one is a shiny toaster oven. The other is a bread box, has that pewter look. I want them to look great, have tried vinegar and water, microfibre, any other ideas? Can't get the fingerprints off.

Is there something I can add to the wash? I've heard vinegar, but I have a front loader so I'm not sure where/how/when I would add it.

We had a pen leak ink on our coffee table. Goo gone and those products generally strip the finish. Any one have ideas on what to use? We tried Murphy's Oil soap, dish soap and a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

Ive just moved into a new house and my soil is in quite good condition at the top but about a foot down it is very compacted and clayey. In order to get it into better condition, i know i need to add mulch and organic matter but do I mix this in with the clay or do I need to get rid of the clay all together?

I already have
http://www.todayinsci.com/cgi-bin/indexpage.pl?http://www.todayinsci.com/F/Fellows_Alvin/FellowsTapeMeasurePatent.htm

And the wic-o-pedia http that led me to the above patent application by Alvin J. Fellows in 1868.

Specifically links about prior models of spring loaded tape measures.

Thanks

The previous owners of our house put in a beautiful stone pathway leading up to the front door. The path consists of paver stones with concrete in the crevices. Unfortunately, either they didn't level it or it skewed over time, because now it's a hazard with stones sticking up at odd angles. Is there anything that we can do to level it back out without removing/redoing the whole thing?

I'm trying to find an area rug for my living room, styled in what one might call casual modern (no florals or persians). The room has white walls (apartment), subdued goldish tan sofa and loveseat and burgundy leather accent chairs. Side tables and coffee table have a black finish, and wall art is predominantly black or dark brown with burgandy accents. Lots of plants, too, which introduce greens into the room. But there's a tannish wall-to-wall, and while the room has a dark, masculine feel, which I like overall, for some reason it's also a little monochromatic feeling. Perhaps it's my tendencies toward solid colors. So I'm looking now to brighten and punch things up a bit on the floor without getting too garish. I've found lots of rugs with colors and patterns I like, but I can't tell what would work best in that room. I'm hoping for something on the lighter side, I think, to make the blacks pop, but that will also harmonize with the golds and burgandies.

I have an antique cast iron trough which I would like to fit into a recess and fill with plants. Unfortunately the trough is longer than the recess. If I arrange to have the middle section removed and the 2 ends welded back together plus drill holes for drainage will this greatly devalue the item?
